Good thing about this daily challenge I’m doing is that I am thinking each day what will I do with you two. I have to prepare myself in advance that everything works smoothly as possible so we can enjoy our time together. This morning we stayed inside and played in kid’s room. Well mostly we learnt the alphabet. OD you are making a slow but steady progress with letters. The biggest challenge for you is to figure out what is the first letter in a spoken word. However, you have no problem with finding that letter in the written word. YD you were figuring out what that illustration was. I was the teacher and you two were my pupils. We managed to learn the alphabet and figuring out what the illustration were for more than 15 minutes which is a lot considering you two are still babies.
We were also learning how to tie a shoe laces and how strong shoe lace is while you two were holding shoe lace and trying to have it for yourself. Shoe lace won as it didn’t break. Learning life skills is important. While me and YD were playing with floor puzzles (in baby world this is as challenging as applying ceramic tiles), OD was dressing and undressing her doll “Meggi”.
At the end of our session OD was already rooting to change herself because she knew it’s Sunday and at Sundays we go to the church. And for that we must properly dress. You were both in a skirt spinning around and enjoy being nice and ready for the celebration.
YD: When we went for an afternoon walk I decided to walk barefoot. You immediately tried to do the same and a few seconds later we were both walking and lightly jogging bare foot. It was quite amusing while other by passers were giving you all the thumbs up and positive comments seeing you bare foot. You were quite a champ. After 500 m or so your tiny feet didn’t like small rocks so you decided to put sandals on. I helped you with that and then you held my sandals and showed me to put them on. I said to you: “I will walk bare foot, you can have your sandals on if you wish though”. And like a champ you then said to me that I have to take your sandals off and again in a few seconds we were walking bare foot for another 500 m. So proud of you. You didn’t cry or making a big deal out of it at all.
Both of you: in the afternoon you were learning to draw with your mommy while I could read books about kids :)
OD: After YD fell asleep you were watching together with me and mom FIFA World Cup finale. Even though you didn’t understand much about football you quickly decided which were fast runners and which not :) You sure do love running. Since it wasn’t too interesting for you to watch people running for a ball you fell asleep after a half an hour.
